Adobe asked all the Authors who contributed articles at Adobe to choose from available list of charities and they will going to donate US$100 on behalf of every Author.
I choose Care.org as i like them Fights global poverty , so i am feeling happy to be a part of this great initiative by Adobe, in total Adobe has donated $6000 in Q2 2008 and Adobe planned to Donate $28000 or $32000 by the end.

Just a few moments ago, ADC (Adobe Developers Connections) Blog has announced all this stuff, so i am quoting it here:

The Adobe Developer Connection (ADC) Write and Give Program gave $6000 USD to charities in the second quarter of 2008. The program acknowledges the writing efforts of our ADC community authors by giving US$100 to a charity for each author’s published article on ADC. Each author chooses his or her charity from a list of five preselected charities (listed below). In 2008, our goal is to give between $24,000-$32,000 to the following charities in recognition of the ADC authors. To our ADC authors, thank you for sharing your technical expertise with the greater developer community and helping other communities as well!

Read on to find out how much we gave in Q2 2008, and to see the list of authors for this quarter!

When there are less than the fully alloted authors in a given quarter, the ADC splits the remainder of the money between the charities. All donations are made at the end of the quarter.

Benetech: Creates new technology solutions that serve humanity and empower people to improve their lives. Amount given: $1080

Nature Conservancy: Works around the world to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people. Amount given: $1680

Adobe Fireworks4 Beta Released for Public

OK, so most awaitied Version of Adobe Fireworks is on its way and you can download and test it… You’ll going to ask that whats new?

From Interface to speed, PDF export and much much more…

I am going to post my review soon, but lets see what Guys at Adobe have to say:

New user interface

Existing users will immediately notice a complete refresh of Firework’s look and feel (see Figure 1). These changes maintain a common workspace layout with applications like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. With these changes, Fireworks becomes a full player within the Adobe Creative Suite. New users will enjoy the intuitive design that allows you to easily select and switch between tools.

Improved workspace

You can’t fully appreciate the many changes to the Fireworks workspace until you jump in and starting using them. However, I’m guessing that these are the enhancements you will appreciate most:

Smart guides: Use these visual guides to align one object with another (see Figure 2). You can quickly align rows of buttons or any elements on the canvas. As you move one object close to another, guides appear to help you snap to an edge or the center of the other object.

Tooltips: Visible x and y coordinates make it easy to determine exactly where objects are placed and where you are on the canvas. Position and resize objects with precise control using feedback displayed right on the cursor.
New panels: The Frames panel has been renamed “States” to reflect how Fireworks is used to create various states of interaction or applications. And the new right-click access for the Pages, Layers, and States panels offer immediate control.

That’s not all. Many small changes will greatly improve your precision, speed, and workflow with Fireworks.

Photoshop import/export and the new text engine

One of the most frequent requests from users has been to improve the ability to open and save Photoshop documents with Fireworks. Fireworks CS4 beta really delivers in this area. Vectors now load completely intact, editable and with their correct appearance—including clipping masks. Fireworks now understands Photoshop color spaces, so there are no more unpredictable shifts in color.

The biggest improvement for Photoshop users will undoubtedly involve text creation and manipulation. With the addition of the Adobe type engine, text in Fireworks CS4 beta looks and behaves the same as Photoshop. With the text engine, Fireworks offers several new capabilities, including flowing text inside or along a path.

Symbol editing

In-place editing means that you can precisely refine a symbol while keeping an eye on the larger picture of the canvas—just like Flash. Simply double-click a symbol to edit it directly on the canvas without leaving your artwork (see Figure 3).

PDF export

Fireworks CS4 beta adds the ability to natively contain and share your design in the Acrobat PDF format, while preserving all interactivity. You can package and share an entire site design in a single document and send it out for review. By using PDF, you can be assured of the security of your design while allowing clients to view and edit.

CSS export

Once you are satisfied with your design, Fireworks allows you to export to an external CSS style sheet in one step. Integrated foreground and background graphics with automatic margin and padding detection is contained in the CSS rules (see Figure 4). Creating clean and flexible CSS-based layouts is much improved in Fireworks CS4 beta.

Comodo is the Commando in FREE Anti-virus in my Opinion!

I was totally whacked with the problems i was facing in my PC, My Net get stuck after every 20 or 30 minutes. I was using AVG, so i switched to Kespersky, Kespersky is a pretty nice Anti-virus but did’nt worked for me, nor the virus was fixed, it also slow down my PC… finally i switched to Comodo after googling a bit…

and i am totally pleased with this ALL FREE, NO LICENSE EVER… ahhhh Freedom… My system is running fast, no Net problem at all now… so… after getting impressed by Comodo Anti-virus i am also going to try there Anti-spyware and that is also free…

You must take a look at alot of FREE stuff they are offering which is better then any other available PAID Anti-virus program.

PS: This is not a Paid post! I really liked them and that’s why i am posting about Comodo.

Hi guys…

I know I’ve been pretty lazy in writing new blogs and posting-up the stuff but this month is very busy for me, I think I’ve taken more orders then i can Handel to have free-time…

Also, with load of work i was invited in few seminars and yesterday i was invited at Microsoft Office for a formal meeting.

But… i try to come-up with some exciting stuff as soon as i can…

Microhoo! - Yahoo! & Microsoft starts takling again!

So! As a week of weeks ago Yahoo! claimed that “We did;nt said NO to Microsoft, we just said we worth more and we want to negotiate” and MS was already wanted to hear this, so now talk are open again.

According to Microsoft Press Release:

REDMOND, Wash. — May 18, 2008 — Microsoft Corp. today issued the following statement:

“In light of developments since the withdrawal of the Microsoft proposal to acquire Yahoo! Inc., Microsoft announced that it is continuing to explore and pursue its alternatives to improve and expand its online services and advertising business. Microsoft is considering and has raised with Yahoo! an alternative that would involve a transaction with Yahoo! but not an acquisition of all of Yahoo! Microsoft is not proposing to make a new bid to acquire all of Yahoo! at this time, but reserves the right to reconsider that alternative depending on future developments and discussions that may take place with Yahoo! or discussions with shareholders of Yahoo! or Microsoft or with other third parties.

“There of course can be no assurance that any transaction will result from these discussions.”

Well… the show is on again and just lets hope whatever is going to happen, apart from the Yahoo Share Holders and Microsoft the end user get some benefits that is off-course in term of content.
